you are just too too good, girl.
i wish i could be there to help as well, but i'm really proud of you.

why is it against the rules to volunteer after you've had a tour 'round the site?

if you are a RC volunteer, you may not leave the building as it is technically a crime scene & violates their rules.

and, thanks P! I feel SO FREAKING good!!!!!!

I am so happy you feel good!! I wish I could be there and help too. I used to do more volunteer stuff thru amateur radio, and I have lost touch with some of those ppl, with my radio out of commission. Drink tea for your throat, and get rest... and yay again for you!

thank you. But I thank the workers. They are so happy to get a smile. So I do that gladly!

Thanks for sharing the news about what it was like volunteering at Ground Zero - it makes it so much more real than just a news report. Thanks again!

I think I will volunteer this week--it'll be a slow one from what I can see, b/c I finally finished a writing project. Maybe I can do the Wednesday night 12-8 shift. Do I call the Red Cross or what?

I don't know my schedule for Wed yet, may take it off....

you have to go to Blyn, the A/C to High St. Exit the Adams St side. You will see RC signs. You have to fill out a form, be assessed & placed, then orientation (every hour on the hour). It takes about 1.5 hours. They are open every day from 8-7. After you do your paperwork you can pick your shift. Take a photo ID (proof of NY residency if your license doesn't say it). Then let me know when you're gonna work!
