They were covering the story and showing how the people of that area look at rape and blame the victim.
THAT is how news is supposed to be done. They were impartial and objective and gave the info of the story. Those are the quotes from people.

As someone who studied journalism I think if the person had put in their personal opinion it would have taken away from the article.
What the writer was showing was that society was blaming her. I think the article made the people in the area look pretty horrible. But it's not the writer's job to put their personal opinion in the article. People complain they want objective news until there is information they don't like.
All that being said...that poor girl. What a disturbing situation. Maybe people need to be angry at the area that allowed this to happen instead of at the newspaper that reported it.

But the article seems balanced to me. It's the people in the community that aren't.
