Update - woo!

 So, here's an update:

It turns out that my source was not credible, and the thing that I was slightly freaking out about in my last entry turned out to be just bullshit, as expected. I have decided that I am going to start trying to control my freakishly paranoid ways, because the same thing always happens: First, I take a situation and completely ( Read more... )

Well, for my two cents, I vote Riv. The only two big things that hit me about Roberts is the free apartment and being away from home. While you look at your list for Rivier, the money that would have been spent on an apartment would be made up in tuition, gas, and laundry money :). Plus, you'll be going to a prestigious nursing school; if you look towards the future, if the school is really that good, then getting into medical school will be easier.

You can deal with Pats fans spitting at your feet. Please.

I second basically everything there. I feel like getting away from home should never be the primary reason to go to a certain school. There are so many people that go cross-country just to get away from their parents, and I think it's stupid. If you take that out, you have only free apartment vs. laundry, etc. That's exactly what Rachel was talking about. In that case, it seems to me like the positive of the top nursing school should outweigh the other positives about Roberts. So there. :-P

Just to be technical, the top nursing school in the state of NH means nothing because it's NH. There are tons and tons of better schools than ones in NH, especially schools in NY. That my two cents, and not saying anything about either choice, I'm just disputing them :)

You know my two cents, but I'll say it again.

Since you'll be living at Riv next year, you will be out of the house, thus giving you more of the "college experience," while still letting you be close to home. It also has an excellent nursing program, and is giving you scholarship money.

The only thing that I can see that's really significant about Roberts is that it's absolutely away from home, but since you're going to be living at Riv anyway, it seems a little extreme to have to go to New York to get away.

If you tally up the list of points for each, Riv wins. :P

It's so cool to finally meet someone from Riv on here!
