{OOC} ABCs Meme

Here's the ABCs Meme as it applies to Linner. Where information overlaps with Brunch's, I didn't write everything out.

Accent (or other vocal quirks; who are they voiced by?): Tetsuya Iwanaga at his coldest, yet with a light touch. He still does the stressing-words thing but not as frequently as Brunch.

Build (Fat, skinny, short, tall, muscular, etc): He’s still one year younger than canon (maybe six months younger by this point) but has the same skinny-but-muscular physique. He’s about maybe half an inch shorter than a canon Marlick, not too noticeable.

Colors (Either their favorites, or the ones they seem to wear or are otherwise associated with): Purple and black. He’s in the manga canon outfit, Battle Ship version: no jewelry but the earrings and pinky rings. (No Duel Disk, though. They don’t even exist.)

Diet (and any allergies or religious / personal restrictions): Remains a vegetarian, but not an extremely strict one - if there’s meat in a dish he won’t bother eating around it. Has started treating himself to ridiculously expensive places lately.

Education: Same as Brunch’s.

Family (Blood and otherwise): Same as Brunch’s.

Goods (Important things they own, or their overall material wealth): The Rod still comes first. He owns the manga!motorcycle now, which means it’s got the word “DEATH” on it - but that didn’t arrive with him in the DR.

Hobbies: What are hobbies? He doesn’t have time for them yet. Though he does have a motorcycle (he never, ever drives under the speed limit) and if he’s feeling restless he keeps up with the dueling, but only to pass time. He’s still planning on seeing the world, etc., but he doesn’t daydream about it any more.

Ignorance (Things they are particularly ignorant of or bad at doing): Feeling. He’s gone from trying to suppress his feelings to doing it automatically, but when an emotion does register he’s extremely up-front about it to himself. Nothing matters to him any more but results, and that’s narrowed his worldview a little more than even he would like - he’s working on that, but again, it’s a conscious decision. He knows what he’s become and there is a tiny part of him that’s scared of it, but it’s locked away next to the tiny part of him that thinks he should have tried harder to find Ishizu and make certain it was really the Pharaoh that’d killed his father. WTG Linner.

Job (Past, current, future): Leader of the Ghouls. He’s made himself a crapton of money stealing, counterfeiting, and selling rare cards, so no matter what he had to do (or what he wanted to do after defeating the Pharaoh) he knew he’d have funds.

Knowledge (What they've learned or taught themselves or learned outside of a formal education): how to be a completely heartless bastard, sob How to fool people, how to lie, how to fight. Basically how to be a very, very good con artist/all-around criminal. Has now mastered the Rod as much as a normal, non-Yami Marlick can.

Love interests (Past, current, future): None. After the experience with Seiran he learned it’s kind of a power kick to jerk other people around by their romantic feelings, but he doesn’t do so often because he doesn’t want a repeat of the entire Seiran incident.

Music (What's on the character's ipod?): Linner’s grown up into a jazz guy on the outside. Still a cheesecake rock guy deep down.

Needs (Things they need to function normally): Knowledge that Rishid’s okay, which is fairly constant because of his total faith in the man. His wits. He strives to minimize needing things - needs are potential weaknesses, and he’d been too needy a kid. Yet he still relies on the Rod to get him pretty much everything he wants.

Orientation (Sexual/romantic; where do they fall on the Kinsey scale?): Bi - he’s physically attracted to men more often but it’s easier for him to relax around women now, oddly enough. (It’s a sliiiightly sexist impulse - he can’t deny intelligent women exist, and he respects their smarts just as much as men’s, but he still implicitly considers them less of a threat.)

Phobias (And nightmares, traumas, etc): Linner fears fear - he knows he has phobias, isn’t going to deny that, but wants to use that knowledge to clamp down on them instead of denying them to the world the way he used to.

Quarrels (Their rivals or things they struggle against): None, anymore, save maybe just fate in general - but that’s a fight simply awaiting a finishing blow. His Bakura’s out to kill him but Linner isn’t taking it too personally - it’s aggravating and actually kind of unfortunate, but he’s able to divorce the thought of this Bakura from the thought of Iris, to whom he feels particularly indebted. As always, he’s his own worst enemy, just in different ways than he used to be (and some of the same - his yami’s still chilling out in there waiting for even this cunning, cold villain to break. Until then, watching him kill his own heart is pretty damn funny.)

Religion (or philosophy and superstition in general): Gods exist. Spirits exist. Maybe fate’s supposed to exist, but to hell with that.

Scars (and other markings): Tombkeeper scars, Brunch’s lip-biting scar on his mouth, a residual scar from vampire week on his arm - it’s only super-noticeable when he points it out, however. Currently a little scratched up, but healing, from his world’s Bakura trying to kill him.

Talents: Hiding what he’s thinking, mind control, seizing opportunities. Multitasking while driving a motorcycle. Self-discipline.

Unconsciousness (The things even they don't realize they do): Running on reason alone now comes automatically. He’s half-secretly longing for a real challenge, since taking out the Pharaoh proved to be almost entirely too easy.

Vices and Villainy: Linner is a cold-hearted, selfish, occasionally apathetic yet functional mess of a human being. For all intents and purposes (aside from clinically), he’s a high-functioning sociopath.

Weaknesses (Things they always give into, things that hurt them more than usual, or things that they are really bad at): The passion’s gone. He’s tried too hard to not lose his temper or let anyone jerk him around by his emotions and now he’s become disconnected from them. He’s aware of this, but he also is perfectly convinced this was the only way to achieve what he wanted in the first place - yet he wasn’t expecting destroying the Pharaoh to leave him feeling unsatisfied so he can’t shake a vague unease for all his pride in what he’s done. Can’t stand being bored yet will also just lie around for hours if he hasn’t thought of anything better to do. The whole “I might have killed my father” thing will be met with unease because he knows he should have checked with Ishizu before following through on his revenge, so he tries not to think about that - especially because what good would finding out the Pharaoh was innocent do now?

XXX (Their overall 'rating' as a character, their level of sexual experience, or their predilections besides gender): He’s flirted his way into people’s minds on a few occasions because of the power kick, but never really took it past kissing because he frankly had no interest. He’s gotten attracted to people in the past but like every desire but revenge he has killed those feelings dead.

Yearnings (Their goals, wishes, desires): TRY TO SATISFY ME - whoops wrong canon. As a side-effect of cutting himself off from the emotions that distracted him from his goals, Linner’s also lost a lot of the passion he’d had for pursuing the future - it only hurt the chances of said future coming true to focus on it too much. So now he’s trying t

Zoo (Their favorite creatures, any pets they have, any important creatures in their life or history): None. Retains an absent fondness for cats.
