That's so beautiful...I know the Deaf culture is very possessive of what they don't consider a disability, but seeing that little smile, the focus on his mother, I know why some people make the choice to have it done.

reminds me of my childhood (is was born deaf due to a ear infection inutero, somehow my parents didn't notice until I was almost three) I and my grandmother were walking toward the doctors for a follow up apt (after my surgery) and a plane flew "very low" overhead. I grabbed her leg and screamed for dear life... ah childhood memories..
