[Dante is meeting a lot of deaf people today. he nods, scrawling on the paper.

"Thanks. Who are you?"]

My name's Haseo. [headtilt] You look like two people I met a while back. But you're - older, that's what it is. What's your name?

["Weird, I only know one person who looks like me. The name's Dante."]

[Zell looks at Dante with wide eyes, closes them, counts to ten, and then resumes staring]

I, uh, hi? I'm Zell. Sorry about you not being able to talk, this really isn't the best time for new arrivals in this weird-ass city.

So, have you heard the basics of Template yet? [offers a pad of paper and a pen to Dante, so he can communicate]

[... that's the second time he's gotten that look, though Zell's definitely tops Mary's. he raises a brow, taking the pen and paper and writing.

"Yeah, pretty sure I have. And I could tell... You okay?"]

["Ohhh. Yeah, I heard about that. ... he's younger than me?" pauses for a moment before writing again. "Quick question that might seem weird - what name is he going by?

You too. Have I been a pain in the ass to live with? Be honest now." and he's grinning a little here.]

[Template struck Dante blind, but that doesn't mean it did anything to his other, more otherworldly senses. Just as he has always been able to sense Vergil's unique energy, he feels the presence of this other-him hovering in the second level, and honestly? It freaks him out, just a little. Another half-demon? And one that feels like someone he should know, but doesn't recognize? This does not bode well.]

I don't know who the hell you think you are, but I want answers, buddy. ASAP. Name, rank, whatever. You're one of us, aren't you?

[raises a brow, trying to think of a way to figure this out. whoo boy, a blind and a mute trying to talk. funtimes! he thinks for a minute before pulling off the amulet and putting it in his younger self's hand, because there's no way he wouldn't recognize that weight by now.]

[his fingers curl around the amulet automatically, possessively, like an infant around an adult's hand. There's no way he could mistake that for anything else, and his unseeing eyes widen with shock]

[he's still got a loose grip on the chain - it's not that he expects his younger self to try anything, it's just that he's not willing to lose physical contact with the keepsake period, no matter who it is he's letting touch it. for the sake of answering the questions he makes a soft noise he hopes will act as confirmation, since he can't use writing to communicate for this.]
