Name: Kaoru Hitachiin
Series: Ouran High School Host Club

Personality:
At first sight Kaoru acts a lot like his brother as they’re mischievous, also smart-mouthed and arrogant to that effect. But when you look a lot closer at the two, Kaoru is in fact the more serious of the two and is also the more rational thinker in situations when there not together, as he can keep calm when they separate. Unlike his brother he is more in-touch with his own feelings, so understands a bit of how he feels much sooner than his brother. He is also in-touch with feelings of the others around him, so he can understand how they are feeling, for example if his brother were to do something that would hurt the feelings of another person, Kaoru would try and fix it, by dressing up as Hikaru to apologise to said person.
If both he and his brother ever liked someone more than in a friendly manner, Kaoru would gladly take a step to the side for his brother, putting him first before himself, usually as he believes that this would help his brother become better. Because of this it shows that he is in fact aware of the people that are around him and not as closed off from the rest of the world as he would like people to believe he is. Even with these personality traits he still is a little bit selfish like his brother, but most likely not as much. He also gets bored easily and likes to play around with people with his brother which they call ‘toys.’ Kaoru does seem to be considerate and deep down he still has the part of him that doesn’t want to let his brother go just yet, even if it isn’t on purpose.
Background:
Kaoru was the second twin born in June to Pure Bloods, Yuzuha Hitachiin, who’s a fashion designer and famous in the wizarding world for it and there father who works for the Ministry working in the office of Intelligence and Research within the International Magical Cooperation Department. Due to their fathers job they had to move from where they originally lived in Japan to Britain at the age of nine. Since there parents were always away a lot of the time when they were growing up the twins spent much of there time with each other more than anyone else, so they started to close themselves off from the world, from other people, this included family themselves, also because of this they started to play pranks and tricks to the many people they would meet, though Kaoru wouldn’t be as harsh about it as his brother, but noone tended to notice as they both were so similar and always together.
Just after moving to Britain a maid had soon started to work for the family that Kaoru liked with his brother a lot because unlike the other house helpers she wasn’t pretentious and was hoping she would be able to tell them apart. One night the maid had tried to break into the safe that they had, to which Kaoru with his brother had the combination to be able to get into it, which they wouldn’t give up unless she won a game of “Which one is Hikaru game.”
The maid couldn’t tell the difference thus the twins hid the combination, only for the said maid to break the piggy bank where they hid it and stole everything in the safe. He had caught her as she was climbing down the ladder to escape as she said words that made him believe that maybe noone would be able to tell them apart, though deep down Kaoru still wanted someone to be able to tell the difference between them. With that statement, Kaoru along with his brother still distanced themselves even more from everyone else crating a world that was just ‘them’ and ‘us.’ The “Which one is Hikaru game” which the people would have to try and figure out which twin was which, though so far noone has actually managed to guess correctly, which tends to upset Kaoru when people fail. The game he would say was for fun, but really he just wanted to find someone who could tell the difference between him and his brother and disprove the thing the maid said about.
From then to the time they came to Hogwarts not much had changed except being a little more twisted in how they treated people and kept to themselves most of the time, but right now Kaoru is in his fifth year of school.

Why you think they belong in this house?
He may be a little bit selfish and mischievous like his brother but, Kaoru has a good heart and always seems to put his brother first before himself in most things and whenever his brother makes a mistake and hurts someone Kaoru will do his best to be able to sort it out. He’s also very dedicated and loyal to his brother and would do whatever it takes to make him happy, even if it means giving up something himself. But he also seems to have the mischievous side of him when with his brother. But look at personality and make your choice…as over all it seems very mixed.

Quidditch Position: None

Hello, this is Kaoru; my brother isn’t here right now I don’t know where he is either. I think he said something about a Firebolt, a Quaffle and something else that I didn’t get.
I’ve been thinking about if anyone will ever tell the difference between him and me, we hope someone can, yet at the same time we hope they can’t, it’s odd but very much true, we’re so much alike yet we have slight differences.
I wonder if anyone of you can tell the difference, if you can tell me how…or even if your right first of all, you can try but you will fail. But right now I have to go get my brother I don’t know what he’s planning but I can see it going so wrong somehow.
Roleplay Sample: (third person)
Walking through the hallway making his way to his next lesson Kaoru held his books in his arms, knowing that there were only so many lessons left till he could go see his brother and do something till it was time for bed.
While walking a fellow student had come up to him thinking he was his brother as Kaoru sighed, explaining that they had the wrong twin, that he was Kaoru and not Hikaru, he watched the girl apologise repeatedly. He hated that noone could tell them apart still, since him and his brother are in different house and apparently noone can still tell the difference after 5 years, just goes to show how much people don’t pay attention.
He soon stopped the girl. “Its ok, I get it a lot, please stop apologising or else you’ll be late for class.” He watched as she left as he sighed; continuing his long walk to the class.
