Well, I think the latest trend right now is a shoulder length blunt cut. But since you don't want to go very short, I'd maybe consider changing color or possibly some bangs (either full or to the sides). You could also do a highlight and lowlight, if you can't decide to go darker or lighter.

I think you'd look cute with bangs to the side. I also remember one time you had your hair pretty dark (I think it was around Zack's 21st birthday) and I thought it looked really good on you!
