Hello! I imagine a lot of the people who stayed stayed because they couldn't afford, or it seemed too impossible, to leave. Most of the people who managed to leave were the(mostly white)people who could afford to. I don't imagine it's very easy for a single mother with six kids or an elderly couple with no other relatives and nowhere to go, to decide to pack up and leave home. And then there are people with pets - sounds like a shitty excuse to non animal lovers but I know it would kill me a million times over to even comprehend leaving my dogs to drown or starve or anything else. But you're right - the people who choose to stay because they're too proud to leave are just stupid. 'I ain't leaving my home for no hurricane' OK well fine then - don't complain when all you have to drink is shitty water and you die

Yeah, that's a good point. I guess it's just hard for me to roll over and die like that...even though I'm sure they didn't just give up. At least I hope they didn't. There HAD to be a way out. It's 2005! I just don't get it I guess. But I do see your point.

Sure, they can bitch about Bush before and after all they want. I just mean that it's not doing the people in New Orleans a bit of good either way. And yes, the most a U.S. president can serve is 2 terms. Though I have heard rumors that Bush wanted to change that, which I find highly amusing. But until that day comes, he is on his way out the door regardless. I guess I'm just saying I don't like pointless pissing and moaning.
