Welcome to devils_waltz, the first attempt at a Kuroshitsuji Big Bang-style fanfiction challenge! If you're reading this, it means that you've expressed some interest in taking part. Thank you!
There's been some concern about whether or not the Kuroshitsuji fandom is ready for an event like this due to its size, so before we get started I'd like to poll the field a little and see where we all stand. If you would, please take a moment to comment and answer these quick questions:
o1. Are you (or do you plan on being) an author/artist/both?
o2. For authors: what word-could would you consider reasonable for this challenge? (Keep in mind that you'll be given an appropriate length of time in which to complete your submission.) As a frame of reference, the more 'hard-core' Big Bang communities require 50,000 words; others, such as the Sherlock Holmes Big Bang, require 20,000. Would you like to see/write fics shorter or longer than this?
o3. How would you prefer to select your story topic? Would you be interested in random assignment, selecting from a list of ideas submitted by your fellow authors, or would you rather come up with your own idea?
o4. For artists: would you prefer to select which story you illustrate, or would you rather be randomly assigned to an author?
o5: Would anyone be interested in doing a fanmix for a submission? (Ie, should we offer to assign fanmixers as well as artists to the participating authors?)
Okay! I think that covers the initial issues. Once I receive some feedback from everyone, I'll be able to determine how best to run this first challenge. In the meantime, we can always use more interested parties - please spread the word to your friends and communities!
