Didn't like what I have seen of it. There are a number of useful and intelligent premises, from what I've seen, but large portions of his stuff were either highly plagarized, or simplifications of notions that have occurred to other philosophers/writers.
Granted, a lot of what people learn and take into their own philosophy may be consolidated from the teachings of others...but I've seen his themes done better elsewhere.

It is just the nature of people, the nature of most situations, and the nature of the world to act and think this way. My own wants and desires (even if it is for someone else to be happy) will always come before others. People have to feel moved to do something before they will even consider acting on it. It is the "acting on it" part that makes us all selfish beings.
I have never thought about this before now, and i will probably never think about it again, but you are right.

Like the word cult. It actually has a very interesting definition.
Cult: Latin cultus, worship, from past participle of colere, to cultivate. See kwel-1 in Indo-European Roots.] Its meaning is purely benevolent. Since it has been used to describe extremists and other religious sects that are frowned upon, it has recieved and retained its negative stigma.
Sticks and stones...
I cut the pie right!
