Personal trainer booked - once a week, for six weeks, starting the second week in May.

Mighty battle done with one wedding gown retailer. I don't know if I defeated her based on sound logic, or she just wanted to get me off the phone. Either way, I win.

Huh. I've been interested in the personal training thing, but I wasn't exactly sure how it worked. Where do you go? What is she going to do with you? Does she create nutrional plan for you too?

I'm doing it through my regular gym. I told her what I was looking to do, and she'll come up with a workout to help me achieve those results. I don't want or need her to come up with a nutritional plan for me, so I didn't ask.

The discount places I've looked into ordering from tack on extra amounts for plus sizes from a specific manufacturer. The manufacturer claims on its website that it does not charge a premium for plus size gowns. I thought perhaps the mftr was fibbing, but it turns out that these discounters are charging -different- amounts, so it seems a little strange that this is a cost passed along from the mftr. I called them on it. I'm not actually opposed to paying extra for extra material and such, but to add a charge just because they can, I don't like.

that's lame. my designer does charge more for plus sizes, but they appear to be different designs as well.

my dress situation is going to be a pain in the ass. i've lost about 10lbs since i got fitted for the dress, so i'm going to need to get alterations done, which is going to inflate the cost of my already stupid expensive dress more than i'd like. i can't believe i decided to get such an expensive dress...though in general the not white wedding dresses are far and few between and seem to lean more towards wanna be couture.

nerr.

I remember your dress being a champagne light gold color. Is that right? I love dresses in those shades.

There's a seamstress named Chris O'Hare in Quincy that seems to get a lot of good reviews for work and price on the Knot. I have to take reviews from there with a grain of salt, because I've found that not all their rave reviews meet my standards, but she's probably worth a shot. I think that's who I'm going with.

hi - sorry for intruding on your comments but i thought this might be a faster and surer way of getting you the details on bridget and christian's surprise 30th birthday party than sending a message via LJ. the original email i sent to everyone is too big for the comments so i made a small webpage:

http://dspmusic.org/30th.html

if you have any questions (or even a plan to attend) send me an email at ethan.bordeaux@gmail.com so i can put you on the main list. and i do appologize for the impersonal tone of this message, i have a lot of them to send out tonight. :)

hope to see you on saturday!

Hi Ethan - not sure we're going to make it, but I'd like to at least stop by and say hello, so I'll be sure to run it by Kite tonight and let you know.
