don't have any preferences as I still use a hand held mixer ;)
However, I did want to say that if you can wait until a sale or something then you can get a sweet deal on Kitchenaide's... my brother's roommate got him one at a store that was closing and then used a 20% off coupon :)
Also, Kitchenaid sells a "splash guard" of sorts that will allow you to add ingredients while the bowl is spinning.
ah, the splash guard might be the answer to my main problems with kitchen aids. and yeah, i'm not wild about spending $250 or more...i figured i'd watch online sales and store sales. thanks for the info!
and i have always been really happy with my kitchenaid. even having to stop to add ingredients, i've always found that it was very powerful and speedy. i have the one with the second to the lowest horsepower (i know there are 3 or 4 different horsepower options).
good to know. do you know what model you have? there's at least 6 different ones i've found online...no rush, this will be a lengthy process as i hunt down the best options...
i have no idea! i bought it i think maybe 2 months after you and mike met. i got it at bed bath and beyond with a sale and the coupon. it's blue, i can tell you that. :D
Kitchen Aid. I have a blue one. I'm told the pasta maker attachment is crap, but I've heard good things about the ice cream maker. I plan to find out about the latter sometime soon. ;D
My mom has a KitchenAid, and she LOVES it. It can handle the holiday cookies without twitching, and she makes double batches - thick dough, as well. Back when she made her own bread, it could handle the bread dough with no worries, either.
The KitchenAids are expensive...but they do not break down.
