So I have been dealing with medical issues for the last year and I am finally getting them under control. Right now I am focused on losing weight so that I can have weight-loss surgery (I have to lose 10% of my current weight to have it done). I am doing my best to change my diet and portion things better but only having an EBT card makes it ( Read more... )

OKAY!! So you are going in for that surgery! I take it you have to lose around what, 50 pounds? They usually don't do that surgery if you weigh over 600 and I know you don't weigh that much!

I wish you luck with that because I have seen miracles. I watch that show in fact called My 600 Pound Life and I love seeing the people get happier and healthier :). One dude was really amazing...he went from 650 to 200, and he did have to have a lot of 'loose skin' tucked up, but he looked fabulous, got his wife back, got his LIFE back. His eating issues began when his first wife died and he wasn't grieving properly. That whole food addiction thing is no different from drugs and alcohol.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT

They want me to lose about 10-15% of my body weight (which is about 50-75lbs) because they need my liver to shrink for surgery so that it is not in the way. When I started in Nov, I weighed in at around 562lbs and I have lost about 10-12lbs since then and now I am working on eating a little better (more veggies and salads) and eating smaller portions of my main dishes. It seems to be going ok so far but not really sure what kind of impact it is having (no scale to weigh myself). I guess I will find out at my next appointment in March.

Thanks for the support. I really appreciate it. :) *HUGS*
