Double Trouble

I don't remember much of this week. In fact, if I made plans with you recently, please remind me of them. Memories keep slipping in and out of my consciousness, but I can't hold on to any of them, nor can I search any of them out.

Tuesday I had two grand mal seizures. They were hours apart, which definitely makes it less bad, but this is still a decline for me; I've never had two grand mals in one day before. The setting for the first was also less than ideal. I was at richenza's, J's, and robdamnit's house, taking care of young N. (The week before I'd started as his nanny.) N was asleep in his crib, thank goodness, and robdamnit was home and could call an ambulance, and take care of N when the EMTs took me away. I don't know what would have happened if robdamnit hadn't been there. Obviously, I won't be N's nanny anymore; I only offered/agreed because I thought my seizures had been under control. It's too risky now that I know they're not controlled.

The EMTs brought me to St. E's in Brighton, where I spent the next three or four hours on a stretcher in the hallway. The staff was very nice, but there wasn't much they could do. During the patient interview I explained that I had slept very poorly the night before, and the doctor agreed that lack of REM sleep was the most likely culprit for the seizure. Some blood was drawn and some basic tests were run for rigor's sake, and then they sent me on my way with instructions to call my neurologist the next day. They did give me a print-out of the test results, though, which was pretty nifty.

The rest of the day is pretty hazy. I know that I spoke to monohedron and brazenheart while at the emergency room, and I *think* I called meinanutshell26 from the hospital. Later, J (a different J from J of richenza and J) came over to my house to keep me company. Shortly thereafter we met up with brazenheart at the grocery store and collected fixings for dinner and s'mores.

While we were waiting for dinner to cook, though, I had another seizure. EMTs were called again, and I was taken to another hospital. This trip was a copy of the previous one, except that after a while brazenheart, J, and my mother joined me. They also brought the s'more fixings. Raw s'mores are definitely inferior to cooked s'mores, but they are also a far sight better than most other foods.

That's the story. I remember snatches of recent days, but nothing really helpful. Yesterday especially is a blank. Words are very difficult for me to handle. Moreover, I'm much more easily confused now, and there's sometimes a delay between when I see something and when I recognize it. I'm pretty scared by all of that, but hopefully those effects will fade soon.
