The problem is really one of semantics.

you know, this whole 'debate' is just a way for the GOP to get old conservatives to the polls. at it's core, the idea of a constitutional amendment is against everything the Republican party stands for (federal oversight into states rights ( ... )

all great points! i agree that we should fight the good fight, though. after all, it is those who do that make things like the civil rights movement a future celebration. i don't feel it will pass either, but i'd rather start fighting now than wait 30 years to celebrate.
