a question about those computers that aren't apples.

so a customer at work is selling a 17" HP Pavillion for $100, because it needs a new motherboard. is this a)difficult, and b) worth doing? it is loaded with photoshop and tons of other good software, and would be a good upgrade for betsy, if worth doing. thoughts?

Well, I found out the hard way that messing around with the motherboard can be very bad -- having to remove the mobo from the case of my old computer killed it dead. So, I'd be a little wary.

Yeah, it stopped being able to communicate with the CPU or the BIOS. "Mistah Kurtz, he dead..."
