Yesterday I visited my sister and interrupted a geography lesson (my niece is home-schooled.) My sister was frustrated with the map she got because it was just the United States, not North America. Which isn't a problem except the background... was blue. Like water

Do you know, I wondered how things were in your neck of the woods the other day. This town absolutely erupted, but Memphis is rather larger than Lawrence, so I can only imagine the insanity that would've gone down over there if that two-seconds-to-go trey hadn't gone in.
This was my Jayhawk moment for the day. The rest of your entry made me think about how your niece wouldn't get any better of a home-school education in my state, which has become a byword for backward.
