I'm so sorry. :( I've seen a lot of cases, and as a vet tech it's really hard to see it happen, since for the most part, it is a preventable disease. I know your pain.
And when we first caught him and took him to the vet, I was all worried about heartworms. I hadn't even considered parvo, 'cause I always hear about it in relation to really young puppies. I keep thinking maybe if we'd found him a week or two earlier this wouldn't have happened.
And he had played with Bruster and my Mom's dog, so my first thought when she told me was "Holy fuck I've just exposed my dog to fucking parvo." But he just had his annual vaccinations two months ago, so I'm trying hard not to worry.
Also, I know it's small consolation, but you provided some happy days and a safe, pain-free end for a sweet puppy. I know it hurts but you've done a wondrous and kind thing.

At least you picked him up off the streets and made him more comfortable. :(
