Choose The Blue

Stolen from redbedhead. This is very interesting.
Pass it on …

It's interesting to check out what companies give to each party. I don't think it would be that hard to go out of your way in 2005 to spend $100 on a blue company.

"If each American who voted for John Kerry spends $100 in 2005 on a blue company instead of a red company, we can move $5 ( Read more... )

This is an excellent resource. It's nice to see that many of the companies I support (Costco, Whole Foods, Amazon, Old Navy, Sony, Apple) are obviously blue vendors. However I was bummed to see Target, Dell, Urban Outfitters, Walgreens and Home Depot were clearly red. Blehk.

I'm surprised about Urban Outfitters. I mean, not that I give much of a shit, but I would have figured them blue, for some reason. Target? OH NO!!

Hmm the G-Meister and i both are avid Wal-Marters but "The Wife" frequents Target most of the time for "political" reasons - wonder if this would make her realize she is just paying more (on some things) for a cooler store experience - i love Old Navy by the way so i will continue the love :)

While Target is red, it's still provides their employees with better benefit plans and offers equality in promotions. Wal Mart does neither. So maybe you could say Wal Mart is more of a Crimson red and Target is more of an orange-y variety. Still red though.

Ok - i do see your point - and perhaps she is right - i shop both places but for the actual reason of limited funds tend to support crimson over orange-y - thank you for your information :)

I totally understand. That's why Costco is the best store ever in my book! Cheap, good quality and they are nice to their employees.

There's also Buy Blue, which has less data, but distills what it has into a one-sheet reference card, suitable for keeping in your glove compartment, for those moments when you need to buy some liquor right away but don't want to support the political opposition. (Or some gas--Shell is the only major oil company in the blue column, barely.)
