Warnings/Notes: spoilers for 8.04. Because the obvious choice for a journeys mix is a one-off character from Supernatural, right?
Kate is one of three friends whose films make up episode 8.04 of Supernatural, “Bitten”. Her boyfriend, Mike, is bitten and turned by a werewolf, and the episode then centers around how the group of friends is affected by the aftermath. She ends up being turned by Mike’s friend, Brian, after he has been turned and killed Mike in a jealous rage over Kate. In turn, Kate kills Brian, finishes their film with a message to the Winchesters (who have been hunting the werewolf that turned Mike) to just give her a chance, and leaves town, her old life and hopes and dreams gone for good.
This is a mix about finding yourself again after tragedy, and what the Winchesters leave behind when they’ve killed the ‘monster of the week’.
