We are going to "look" at some Beagle puppies tomorrow. I did some research and they are good house pets (if they get exercise regularly) they are loving, and get along with other pets. Well if we did get one, I am concerned because Maxx is soooooooo needy. He has to be touching some part of you constantly (unless he is outside) He would have to ( Read more... )

beagles are........ needy and annoying. need alot of exercise or they'll get fat.

also, i have 2 neighbors who own beagles. worst sound to wake up to at 7am. sounds like people are choking them

I grew up with beagles. Love em. My fams first one was really cool. A lot of fun, really friendly. He only barked at the times pretty much any dog would (someone at the door, when playing, etc...)

The one my rents have now is a little more heavy-set, but he's a total sweetheart. Almost NEVER barks (athough we think he may have been abused by his former owners, and maybe he doesn't bark cause he's afraid he'll get beat).

After being around my rents Sheltie, I'd have to say a beagles bark is totally normal. Although they can, on occasion, howl pretty good.

I vote thumbs up on the beagle.
