Party on the beach

Well, I now have been to two Full Moon Parties on Koh Pha Ngan. This is truely an interesting event. Basically you have the entirety of the beach (and inland for a few blocks) setting up shop to sell booze, food and flourescent body paint to 5000 or more tourists (and a few Thais). Mmm, crispy Gecko. I don't suppose Geico covered that accident ;)

It was just the other day I was recalling moments from my youth, where I would have to cautiously peer at the ceiling in the kitchen if I traipsed in there at night.. the fluorescent light would be on, attracting the moths and the lizards would follow. They occasionally lost their footing (hanging upside down on the ceiling and losing to gravity, imagine that) and plopped onto the ground. They never died, just got stunned but recovered after a few seconds. I had a perpetual fear of them falling onto me and usually zigzagged my way around the room to avoid them being above me. That must have been interesting to an observer on the sidelines..
