I'll be posting pics as I find the various electronic nooks and crannies that gobbled up two years of digital photos...maybe some new ones too (since I have a functional camera at last). I've some dim recollection that the first impetus in starting an LJ account was to document our Alaskan adventure.
The bustling metropolis of Haines Junction, Yukon territory, Canada. This place is quite literally in the middle of nowhere. (the Yukon has "nowhere" in huge quantities...a theme repeated in Alaska)
Beautiful views abound though...mountains as seen from Haines Jct.
Ahh, Buckshot Betty's. A tiny nugget of civilization (they have internet access...and decent pastries) on the Alcan.
Beaver Creek, Yukon btw
Here are a couple of views around Kluane lake. Yukon territory
...and a little reminder of where I came from. This is a section of Soldier creek that runs through the environmental center just west of lake Jessup in Seminole county, Florida. There is a small, but technically challenging network of bike trails along this waterway. As an added bonus, alligators live in large numbers in and near the lake.
