I like the tension in the first figure. It's interesting that he's not chained TO the large object, but rather is using the chain as a tool to either draw the object closer, or to prevent it from moving further away.
Bird/board
Do you rememer yhat bird that got its leg trapped in the wire Frank had mounted high on the wall behind Enterprise? When we found it, it was a corpse dangling upside down by its foot, black against the pale wall. A striking image, but not a pleasant one.
Tree yin/yang ... I've seen something similar to this, but don't recall where. Book cover or T-shirt. Like the concept though.
