not to be mr. i know everything about music because i go to full sail. But I wouldn't recommend going to ohio, there is no way you can learn all about recording in 5 -8 weeks. And it costs a lot to get started with recording equipment. I'd try and save up for some equipment, while going to some sort of music school. Even AI in Boston is good for recording art stuff and Isn't nearly as expensive as full sail and without the ridiculous hours.
it's your job to find out good schools. just search google for "music colleges that dont suck". cape cod is the easiest and cheapest school ever, so if you can gather your nutsack and stay there long enough to get your two years in, you can transfer tons of different places. Even if you get a degree in like, business, you can work in music just fine. just please dont go out in the workplace, because i guarantee your face will slowly transform into my dad's, who is a miserable human being. get a degree and go kick the world's ass, make a shitload of money and try to succeed.
cause I already fucked my shit up last semester, and am continuing to do so this semester, so my gpa isn't going to really get me in anywhere. I obviously don't want to go into some full time job for the rest of my life where I either bust my ass or do something boring and shitty. If I went to capes again, I wouldn't even be able to take music classes, and I can never bring myself to actually do well in other classes for more than a few weeks. Plus my terrible sleep patterns would continue and I'd be skipping again because of it. I'm going to a doctor to see whats wrong with me and maybe get some prescription sleep medication. I can't get into other state schools without at least another semester or 2 at cape cod. I'd need to go live at a school somewhere and have class most days to actually make myself do stuff. The recording workshop is a pretty legit place, and apparently I can get 12 credits for it, and there somehow tied with some music school in ohio too. So Im gonna look into there. My original goal was to teach guitar during

I'm not sure if this is even possible, but you can always do a metropolitan college while having a full time job. It's far cheaper and it can get you a degree. A lot of places have it- even BU does. Finding a cheap place in Boston, especially by Brookline or UMB is easy. As for a loan, your parents debt shouldn't matter too much. I go to the second most expensive school in Massachusetts and my parents filed for bankruptcy and they can still co-sign. Just a suggestion- good luck.
