SOAP (part ii)

Jan 31, 2005 15:10

Notice how, on a soap, the ground-breaking twists always occur on a Friday, to keep viewers in supense over the weekend?

Same thing here, the big events happen on Fridays.

At the end of last week, my secret-identity was exposed.

Photos attached to the name John Kerr, rather than the name Dexter Collins appeared in the newspaper. These pictures ( Read more... )

*Notice I didn't write "tell you my name".

As a first-born male child of gyspy descent - a son of Romany - I uphold my culture's belief never reveal to my true name.

Makes sense. I am sorry that you have gone through pain like that in your life. However, you do have every right to use any name you want. It is just a name after all. Its fairly obvious that people are who they decide to be, not necessarilly what the birth certificate says.

Hey Bread. Thank you, man. I'm actually a very happy, lightweight person, just a bit intense at times. And recently, I've had a lot to explain, or come to terms with. But *hugs!* i'm good.

Hey Hoops!

I think you're the coolest person I've met ovr this year and last year.

That - that made my day. My week. My month.

You're a very awesome and special guy. *hugs* to you. I think that using Dex's name is so special and nice I can't find the right words to express itLike, now he's special to me because of how important he is/was to you. Does that make sense

Yes, it does make sense. *hugs*

Listen, if you're around UC in O-week, drop me a line and I'll sneak us into the staff club for coffee. :)

We can make a tableau! LOL

I just put this in a 'friends' journal, what do you think?I think what you wrote was passionate and well informed. But, what's the story? Somebody was too PC and cut an LJ friend over the word "retard ( ... )

I don't think I'll be around much in O-week, I have lack of money, but if there's a chance of meeting you I might come in one day. When will you be in?
The story behing the use of the word retarde was yeah, 'Somebody was too PC and cut an LJ friend over the word "retard", but then went on about how she was in the right, it bugged me :).
I like your posts. They're interesting. I scan a lot of my friends posts because a lot of them are the same, especially the ones who post several times a day. There are a few friends only friends I have too who post heaps, but again, it's nearly always the same.
I shan't call you smart. I'll think up some other words to list :)

I'm supposed to be in most days, but I'm not. I'm also straddling the campus at ANU. Possibly next week? I have an audition on Saturday.

Oh, and as for 'retard'? I prefer to be refered to as 'deranged'. Or 'maniacal'.

:)

That's why I need to get my Doctorate; nobody takes manaical [sp.] rants seriously unless you're a Doctor.

Like Doctor Evil.

Or Dr No.

Your journal confuses me very much sometimes. But I really don't care what your name is, as long as you don't lie about who you are. I can understand holding things back. Not everyone can be trusted with everything that we are. It's a gift, to truly be allowed to know someone. Now I never think that you should intentionally mislead someone that you care about, but I don't think that using a different name counts as misleading someone. I don't know. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just explain the best you can I guess. Some people are worth explaining things to and some aren't. I am suffering from extreme cumulative sleep loss and really have no idea what the hell I am talking about anymore, so I really should stop for now.

Hey Crystal,

Thank you. *hug*
Yeah, my LJ seems to confuse a lot of people, not least of all me!
I'm curious as to how it confuses people, though. I'll address that in an upcoming post. Maybe tonight. But: cumulative sleep loss!!! :)

Catcher Block only assumed a name to trick Barbra/Nancy, I'm not sure it really counts, though, she did the same thing... her spiel at the end recounting the whole movie was so tedious... funny, but tedious none the less.

I just wanted you to hear all this from me before you heard it from your private eye. dexter_collins February 12 2005, 06:22:57 UTC
I worked as your secretary. I don't expect you to remember me. I wasn't a blond then. But you did ask me out. And it broke my heart to say no, but I loved you too much. I couldn't bear to become just another notch in your bedpost. With your dating habits, I knew that even if I was lucky enough to get a regular spot on your rotating schedule... I would never have your undivided attention long enough for you to fall in love with me. I knew I had to do something to set myself apart. I knew I had to quit my job as your secretary... and write an international best-seller controversial enough... to get the attention of a New York publisher as well as "KNOW" magazine... but insignificant enough that as long as I went unseen, "KNOW" magazine's star journalist would refuse to do a cover story about it. I knew that every time we were supposed to meet, you would get distracted by one of your many girlfriends and stand me up... and this would give me a reason to fight with you over the phone... and declare that I wouldn't meet with you for a ( ... )
