All the sympathy. I'm having a laminectomy/discectomy on Monday (L4-5, though, not cervical) and am actually looking forward to it because living with the pain has been so exhausting. I hope your PT helps and that you end up with whatever surgery is less invasive.
And if you go to con.txt, I hope you write about it! I'm not far (Balt.), but have never gone. I have always gotten the vibe that it's one of those cons where everybody already knows everybody else; not sure if that's an accurate perception. The possibility of an event being insidery is intimidating to me.
Ugh, you have my mutual sympathy! In my case the neurological dysfunction is more problematic than the pain, and yeah, having that over with would be nice. Good luck on your surgery!
I haven't personally found con.txt very insidery. It's pretty small, I think, but I've always managed to find people to connect with and I really am not that social and don't know that many people (last time I would up in excellent impromptu hockey conversations). I'm up near Aberdeen, so not very far from you, actually.
Confirmation and a plan are good things! Bone shaving sounds simultaneously scary and weirdly like a Sherlock-kink theme. I hope you have a good recovery.

That is a lot to process and prep for and deal with, man.
I hope I can see you at con.txt, so Sky and I can give you (very gentle) hugs.
