So far, I've had a lot of fun with the Wii. I played Metroid Prime 3, Super Paper Mario and a bunch of Virtual Console games like Super Mario Bros : The Lost Levels, Metroid and Super Metroid. I actually finished Super Paper Mario this weekend, clocking at the 40 hour mark. Whoa

As far as modern platformers go I can only think of other 3D Mario games that are as much of a joy to play as this. Just makes me with My N64 still worked.

But I remember Miyamoto talking about he worked so hard to make each stage feel like its own
self contained world, and you could touch or interact with almost everything in it. And he made it lack a timer so you could explore it all freely. I dont think anyone uses this aproach anymore. Its like "gameplay with patience.." You know, no twitchy reactions, just looking at a fairytale world. Your thoughts?

I remember you talking about Mario 64 back in the day and me not being very interested... How wrong I was.
I already emptied the first two worlds of all their stars, and I'm looking forward to visit the next ones. (I'm a stupid completionist)
I can't for the life of me fly correctly with that stupid wing cap though, and I can't get the star in the 1st special course. I'll manage someday, I'm sure. ^^

Still doesn't feel like that long ago; I remember when it was new. ^^; And if it makes any difference, I still think it looks good. Maybe not super-detailed, but certainly pretty. ^_^
