It's hard to start Raspberry and Blueberry bushes from seed - but you can get super cheap plants right about now! I got my raspberry bush as an end of the year, "omg it's snowing buy these things NOW" at Lowes for like 2 bucks. It's now on it's second year and I have about six producing canes [certain raspberries, which mine is, produce on new canes ONLY. So I prune out the old ones come spring.]
If you need mint - I'll give you some. Haha! That, or when you go visit the store, just pinch off a bit of one and throw it in your pocket - mint is VERY advantageous and it WILL root no matter what you do to it. When you get home put the stem in some water and change the water every two days. It'll probablly 99% root in the water. Then plant in a big pot. XD
[a lot of perennial herbs are easily rooted so you don't even really have to buy any of them. Although for culinary types, like Orange Mint, or Chocolate Mint, you may need to buy seeds for since they're not normally sold in big box stores... or ( ... )

Blood meal is in any fertilizer section of Lowes/Home Depot. I think it's... Miracle Grow Organic I bought? Also get Bone Meal - bulbed plants like Tulips, Daff's, and GARLIC looooove bone meal. [also roses!]
Your cats might not actually eat the geranium. If anything look into getting a cloche for it then - it'll keep your cats out and it'll look reall purdy.
4'o'clocks are full sun baby. Gorgeous too. Do what I do: come fall, after the ground chills just direct seed the seeds where you want them to grow - you'll get stronger plants that way. Plus side is - they reseed like CRAZY. Never have to worry about replanting them! [there's about 20+ bushes currently in my garden that I didn't plant.]
Pretty shade-lovers/tolerators: Hosta, Astilbe, Ferns, Lily-of-the-Valley, Hellebores [my personal ♥], Creeping Jenny, Forget-me-nots, and lettuce! ( ... )
