My world is upside down.

What is it with Microsoft not being evil more lately?

Some folks made a mod for a shooter on the PS3, so you can play Halo's "Master Chief" inside it.

Microsoft's reaction is basically: "Hey, some fans who like Halo are doing some Halo-themed stuff in other platforms! Cool! We're just glad that they like Halo enough to do this!"

WTF?

It's okay, Windows Vista still exists.

The world continues spinning on its axis.

So I hear, though personally I've never seen any evidence of it. I wonder when it will start appearing on campus where I can see it...

But yeah, their computer arm and their game console arm seem to be completely differently. I might be able to wrap my head around it better if I just stopped thinking of them as the same entity. I mean heck, the XB360 has special direct support for plugging a Macintosh-only formatted iPod into it... that's not the Microsoft I know...

Yeah, but try to migrate your gamertag anywhere (in any way, for any reason), and you'll see the good ol' Microsoft stupidity come into play. Or so I've heard.

Nah, migrating gamertags is completely trivial. I actually do it constantly (we have an XB360 here at work and I sort-of have two at home).

The only times it's a problem are when you try to do something shady with it, like having it be active on more than one device at the same time.
