Can you move your meal time up 30 minutes? Candy (and anything that's pure sugar) will only spike your blood sugar, not keep it up. That can leave you feeling even worse. Try snacking on something else between big meals (chex mix, baby carrots, yogurt), and make sure you're drinking plenty of water. Dehydration will cause shakes and headaches.

It's probably the candy. I know it doesn't really make sense, but the less refined sugar you eat the less likely you are to have problems with low blood sugar. That's because when you eat something that has alot of sugar in it your body produces more insulin than normal to process it. The higher insulin level causes your blood sugar to plummet - that crash is the shaky feeling you're having. I've been crashing more since Halloween too.

Cutting down on or eliminating refined sugar, or at least always pairing it with protein, should get rid of the shakes. If you eat fresh fruit and some sort of protein for breakfast instead of the usual carb-heavy morning meal, that should stop the pre-lunch shakiness.

I try to only have sweets immediately after a full meal, which helps keep my blood sugar more level. Protein digest more slowly, which keeps your body from overreacting to the sugar.

Hope that helps!

You're welcome!

I've had the same problem pretty much my whole life, so I've learned alot about how to deal with it.
