turkey day has come and gone once again. it was a really great long weekend. busy, but great. i am bummed that i'm back at work today. it is always harder for me to focus during that thanksgiving to christmas period.
my sister was in town for the holiday. she is dating one of adam's friends now. they have been talking for a bit over a month. they are completely smitten with each other. it was fun, yet oogie from a sister perspective, seeing the cuteness. adam came over for thanksgiving this year since he had his family thanksgiving on wednesday. we had a really nice lunch then all went to see four christmases (which is hilarious!). we rounded out the long weekend with a fabulous time on saturday night with all of the friends and girlfriends. we watched the ou/osu game at sherlocks and did a lot of drinking and laughing. then we made it over to the outer marker where i sang karaoke to 'islands in the stream' with jeff who was too drunk to make out the screen so just stared and didn't sing a word. nice! cathy was able to come out and have a good time too. it was a great night :) somehow i made it through everything without being hung over on sunday, i have no idea how!
wednesday was my last official class as an education student! can you believe it? two long years. i have one last lesson to pull together but no more class time. it's kind of surreal. the next step is our meeting on january 10th to get our student teaching assignments. then student teaching officially begins on january 20th. karen and i are still trying to figure out how we are going to work my leaving. i'm not really worried about it though. i truly feel that everything will work out in the end b/c teaching is what i should be doing. i'm sure i will need to remind myself of this during my three months as a student teacher, haha!
mom, cathy, and i went to see twilight yesterday. it was really, really great. i wasn't sure what to expect b/c katie didn't like it and cathy loved it. i was pleasantly surprised! other than the weird hokiness of edward's 'shining in the sun' scene, they did a great job with the movie. i pictured his 'shining' as more of a reflective prism thing, but whatever. i'm planning on seeing it again with adam. i'm looking forward to it. maybe this time i will see a bit more b/c i'm not quite as consumed with rob pattison's HOTNESS. sheesh. he should be illegal!
all of my christmas shopping is FINISHED! i got mom's gift this saturday so i'm completely done. now for the wrapping. i think i may do that tonight. i'm looking forward to christmas this year. maybe more so adam's and my trip to washington dc. :) yesterday was 6 months for us. i'm still crazy about him :)
i hope everyone is doing well this holiday season and had a GREAT thanksgiving!
