Welcome to the D.Gray-man Big Bang! In a Big Bang challenge, writers and artists come together to work on quality, novella-length fanfiction and accompanying artwork.

For this particular challenge, writers will write a 10,000 minimum word fic, which will then be paired up with an artist to illustrate.

[writers]

» Stories must be a minimum of 10,000 words in length. There is no maximum word count.
» Stories may be slash, het, or gen. Any rating is also acceptable.
» Stories must focus primarily on one or more of the characters from D.Gray-man. Original characters (OCs) are welcome, but not as main characters.
» Alternate universes (AUs) are allowed. Crossovers are also allowed, so long as the focus is on the DGM characters.
» Please have your story beta'd for grammar and spelling.
» Please submit your story with all necessary html tags already embedded. Stories will be posted in the exact format that I receive them.
» Please do not post your story elsewhere prior to the final posting date. A master list of all fiction and art will be created at the end of the challenge. You may post your work at your own site/blog afterward.
» Signing up means you are making a commitment. Please sign up only if you are serious about completing this challenge.

[artists]

» You agree to create at least one (1) piece of art or fan media for one of the big bang stories. You are not limited to just one. If you're inspired, please feel free to do more!
» Art can be any media (digital, water color, doujinshi-style, photo manip, amv, etc.)
» Any rating is acceptable, so long as it corresponds to the story it's based on.
» Please do not post your art elsewhere prior to the final posting date. A master list of all fiction and art will be created at the end of the challenge. You may post your work at your own site/blog afterward.
» Signing up means you are making a commitment. Please sign up only if you are serious about completing this challenge.

[timeline]

» June 30, 2010 - midnight (Central) - Writer sign-ups close. Begin writing!

» September 10, 2010 - midnight (Central) - First round of rough drafts are due and artist sign-ups close. At this time, writers must turn in a rough draft of at least 4,000 words (or more), along with a summary and synopsis. If you miss this deadline, your story will not qualify for accompanying art/media.

» September 14, 2010 - Fic claims for artists. A list of summaries will be posted, at which point participating artists will be able to claim a story. This will be first come/first serve until all stories are claimed at least once. Artists will be emailed full details for the story they claimed. Paired artists and writers are encouraged to contact each other.

» October 31, 2010 - midnight (Central) - Second round of rough drafts are due. Writers must submit another rough draft. Rough drafts must meet the 10,000 word goal but do not have to be complete (although you should be close to the end!).

» December 5, 2010 - All stories and accompanying media will be posted to the community, along with a master list.
