[He does realize she won't be expecting anything for Christmas, right?] W-What about you? Which one are you going to ride?

[Peering around the people ahead of them to check what other steeds there are.]

[She never does but he never fails to get her something at home. Why should this place be any different?] Me?

[Looking at things and then smiles] The giraffe looks kind of neat to try and ride.

[Because she can't take any of it home with her.]

Maybe it'll be like riding Tettsui. Only not as fast.

At least I won't have to sit on its neck. [So? It's the thought that counts! Not like she'll remember him at home either.]

[That's exactly why she doesn't like the idea of getting gifts! They'd only remind her whenever she looked at them that... one day none of it will mean anything to her.]

[She gives a small, slightly wry, laugh, and pulls him forward a bit more as the carousel goes through its final loop and the passengers begin to disembark.]

Smiles as they wait just a bit longer before they're allowed up and he leads her to her choice.]

Shame they don't have a panda bear, almost.

[She'll try her best, Lavi. Following after him over to the zebra steed. She gives him a look of mingled amusement and a motherly sort of reproach as she clambers up.]

I'm sure Bookman wouldn't share the same sentiments.

[He grins and slips up on the giraffe just in front of her, riding it backwards for a moment so they can keep talking.]

He'd probably kick me off and ride it himself.

We'll have to see if we can find a Bookman and a panda bear on another carousel.

[Thoughtfully, as the carousel begins to lurch into motion:] I met a Bookman a few months ago.

You did? [Makes a surprised noise, holding onto the pole making his ride go up and down for support.] I haven't seen him around.

Yes. [She purses her lips a little.] He'd been waiting for Lavis to show up and explain things, I suppose.

[arebornstar]

I'll have to look for the old man after we get out of here, I guess.

[fallforthesky]

I don't know if he'll be easy to track down, but if you do find him, I'm sure he'll be-- glad to see you.
