Really, it's not the wall he's looking at. It's the pictures on the wall. There are framed portraits lining the hallway, with various subjects... and they're moving as though alive. In fact, the one he's looking at contains

We all have our little quirks! No harm in that.

[he'll be keeping an even closer eye on this one now. Allen, with his heightened senses, will probably be able to figure that out - Fourteenth is at a bit of a disadvantage here with not knowing how far those extra senses extend.]

Most of the time anyway. [A light laugh, he might be able to catch a peak at the fangs. Maybe.]

[he may have caught a glimpse of them, but he's not entirely sure he trusts his eyes. Fangs aren't exactly something you see every day, after all. Still filing that away in his mental notes about this Allen... can probably be confirmed or denied at a later time.]

[well, he can understand the first part well enough. That's the reason he doesn't let anyone close. A lot of people want to kill him.]

That's true... but you can only be so careful, after all. Sometimes people aren't at all who they seemed in the beginning... and there's no way to tell until you've already let them in.

[that has Fourteenth feeling a little more intrigued. How much does this Allen know, he wonders? Was he simply making a statement in line with the conversation, or was it a warning or a tease that he understands more about Fourteenth than the Noah realizes? Ah, this is the best sort of game~ Such a neutral, polite smile he's hiding behind, too.]

I bet most people wish they had a skill like that!

[Conversation really, this one has no dark and secret agenda. Though the Neah inside his head is calculating every moment in his own secret space, Allen doesn't even know he's there.
