Career, car and clothes.

It's all about the C's today. It was career-day at the university, and since I haven't actually bought any clothes for about two years, I needed to start out the day buying something a little more... professional than was in my closet. And considering I'm plus-sized, that's a whole lot harder than I think it ought to be. Apparently plus-sized women ( Read more... )

Hey, you described me in that post...
Especially on the clothes. And 14/42 isn't even that plus sized...

I'd not buy a new car. Buy a good used car, maybe two years old. We've had a Lupo for 13 years, the Ups predecessor. Good car, too small for me.

I... Really, really want a new car. Really. I'm 35 years old. I think it's time... ;-)

At any rate, I'm single with no plans to get either boyfriend or kids, so a small car sounds heavenly. My current car is a big sedan, and it's comfortable and all, but dang annoying to park. Also, I would love one a little more energy-effective. Add to that the fact that there isn't a lively market for newer used cars due to the tax-structure on cars (we pay upwards of an additional 180% of the car's price in taxes), well... I just want a new car. :-D

I'm a 46-48, and that's *very* plus-sized. Specialty-shops all the way. :-/

Yeah, I'm lucky, I usually can get something in regular stores... at least, as long as it's not shoes. I have ridicolously big feet...

Hey, if you want a new car, go for it... I was just saying ;-)
I got neither bf nor kids, but two big dogs - so when I get a car (probably within the next year or so) I'll have to look at something not that small - looking at Skoda Octavia, Fabia and Opel Meriva - all very efficient. 5-6l Diesel / 100 km.

But the Up! is nice. There's also a really efficient 4,4l Polo on the market.

LOL - well, there's a difference between two big dogs and one medium-sized cat... ;-)

I need to get my over-eating conquered before I can lose weight again, and that's probably not going to happen while I'm up in the air about so many things. I need a job, a home and a therapist. Once those three things are in place, I think it'll get better. Slowly, but surely. :-)

95% is A-shaped or in other ways tent-like. It's enough to piss a girl off - not least when she's spent months looking at Penelope Garcia's chic wardrobe. :-(

But... I got two nifty blouses, a top, a pair of pants and a white button-down shirt I'm really fond of. And a new jacket, which was the only model they had that wasn't A-shaped. Jeezuz. Maybe I should just start my own clothes-line, designed to remind people that just because we're big, doesn't mean that we don't have shapes, nor that those shapes should be hidden away like they aren't there at all. I don't want to look like a tent - I've still got curves, you know? :-)
