A funny thing happened on the way to the forum, er lake

For those outside my day-to-day contact, I've been walking around Boomer Lake with friends in an effort to be a bit healthier and maybe, just maybe, lose a little of this gut I gained from college.

Aside: Curse you Chicken Fried Steak!

So, I sat there, waiting for the rest to arrive.

Aside: I don't mind being what some woul call "on time," even when others seem to be stuck in what has become known locally as "gamer time." "Gamer time" being when you show up later than the assigned time regularly, because at RPGs, gamers tend to gab for a while before the game actually starts.

My glasses were dirty, so I cleaned them on my shirt as I often do when something strange and funny happened. They snapped in half, unrepairabily. No, they can't even be geek-taped together. It's that bad.

Now, this wouldn't be a problem if I weren't... blind as a bat without them.

Aside: Bats are not blind, just nearly so. I can see the area around 6 inches from my face with clarity, and horribily blurred shapes with very indistinct outlines past that.

Remember kindergarden trees which had trunks with several blobs for leaves? That is how they look to me without glasses. It was a very interesting experience when I found out trees had leaves and not big green blobs, back then.

This means I can't drive home. I know, I'm just not SUPPOSED to drive without my glasses (Restriction on License), but I don't feel safe doing so, especially at night.

After the walk, I get food with others, mmmm tasty Panda meats, and eventually get home, where I found an older pair of glasses to wear.

This is made all the funnier because I resumed wearing the pair that broke after my wire-thin glasses broke some time ago.
