I hope somebody like his crew chief or some member of his team can stop him from beating up on himself. Dude, he's still in the top twelve in points and has a very real shot at making the chase. Even if he doesn't, it won't be due to any fault of his own. He did what he needed to do.

I, myself think that Denny and Mike (his CC) are too much alike to help eachother. Denny needs someone like Tony, or Zippy to let him know that he can do this. Because he has 0 confidence left. He's only in the top 12, by 26 points.
Bristol is a track he can never 'get it done', runs well but never gets that finish (ie last year with the blown engine).. As is Cali. Richmond is his only hope, and you remember the spring race, right?
He has more talent than he had his rookie year, why... cant he finish? Freakin bad luck, every week.
I wouldnt be surprised if he gave up. I know hes strong but I dont think he's strong enough to take it anymore.
I mean, after Richmond, he didnt eat or sleep for 2 days...
It's taking its toll, slowly but surely.

I didn't see much of the race but I'm sorry that all this bullshit is going on. I believe Denny is a great driver and [like Ryan] can do better if given the right equipment. It seems a little bs to me. **hugs**

Like you said, why wouldn't they give the new engine to Kyle? It doesn't make any sense to me - Kyle's locked in the chase and Denny's still trying to make it in. All Gibbs cares about anymore is Kyle and Joey.

It is very painful to watch your driver doing badly and losing confidence in himself.
Like dearjoanwallace said, hearing from their fans can really help. I know being voted into the All Star race really helped Kasey's confidence.

Gibbs was never my favorite team but I did like them, however it seems like they lost their minds this season. Anyone with half a brain would have given the test engine to Kyle. Hell with his creepy come back skills he might have been able to blow the test engine and somehow make an amazing come back to still finish second. Every time you think the boy is done because of some mishap on the track he is right back up there in the top 10 in 50 laps. (I personally think he sold his soul to the devil...)
