Thanks for the input!! The love interest is between the main character and the character who is the joker villian, but not while they are in their alter egos. I probably will center everything around the college atmosphere, it would give them a central place to meet create plot lines. I have been worrying about my supporting characters being too much like existing batman characters but I am changing their ethnicity, and they will have their own personalities that I hope will change them enough so there won't be a correlation when reading. As for the Latina Joker, she has been struggling her whole life, she worked hard to get scholarships to go to school. she hurts people that have wronged her with her knowledge of chemistry and anatomy. she grew up in a not so functional part of town, and joined a gang at an early age. She was part of the drive by shooting that put the supporting girl character into a wheelchair. Honestly I'm having a hard time creating a good villain. I can't help wanting to make her good deep down
