There was a terrorist attack in London, there were three bombs on the subway and one on a bus.

Nikhil's staying in Nottingham, so he should be fine.

This sort of thing really makes me disappointed in the world. I don't necessarily blame it on religion, but rather on people who manipulate religion to justify this sort of thing.

Eh. Want to help me populate Mars with all the good people in this world?

two notes of clarification.
1. immediately following the first subway bomb, it was declared that it was merely a malfunction in the system, but as info trickled in about the other attacks, teh story changed to terror by "al qaida"
2. there was only one informant in iraq about the wmd's. he was labeled as a shady character by the field agents. he was labeled as contantly drunk, rude and obnoxious, and always asking for payment for his information.

i talked to raj earlier online, hes fine....

he's nowhere near london, especially that early in the morning there, it was rush hour...

and i dont know if u can say its cuz of religion... the group who claimed responsibility said, like every other attack, that it was because of england's and most of the other western countries' involvement in iraq and afghanistan

as far as it becoming a world war, i dont know if it will ever become that becuz its not like these terrorist organizations reside in one country... sure they r in syria, iran, etc., but if they r here we're not gonna start a war against ourselves... unfortunately, we can never eradicate terrorism but the only way to make progress is by doing what we r doing now and trying to disable networks...

as far as a draft goes, if its not too much trouble get me a ticket to switzerland as well :o)

yeah thats true, it wouldn't be war as they know it.

But if you think about it, the terrorists are in a war against us. Infiltration and these bombings are how they fight. It's actually pretty brilliant.

oh i agree with u completely about them being in a war against us... what they realize and what we (the west) seem to not understand, is the fact that when they attack us we attack back, and it is when we attack back that unites them and divide us.. unfortunately, they're not stupid :o/

instead of going about killing people does it not make more sense to exterminate the root of the problem? they hate us for a reason; we have screwed over their region. in the 80s america installed and supported dictators around the world to stop communism from spreading. these dictators are still in power and still supported by our government. case in point: saudi arabia. the problem is that we get all our oil from there and we need to support their governments to get the oil. we have got ourselves stuck in a hole. we need to research and implement alternative energy, get rid of our dependence on middle eastern oil, and let the people of these countries deal with their oppressors (instead of bombing the hell out of the country and killing civilians a la iraq). when we can convince the people of the middle east that we are their friends and not just their dictator's friends, then we can make progress. contrary to the beliefs of our current government, people do not look upon occupiers as friends, no matter what the intentions are. of ( ... )
