A walk down memory lane

Tonight I had the privilege of doing something I haven't had the opportunity to do in a long time: watch an episode of Agatha Christie's Poirot. It was a first-season episode, "Problem at Sea". It was filmed over twenty years old but is still entertaining

Hmmmm... the production crew of a new series taking gratuitous liberties with the format of the old. Now where have I heard that before...?

It's the same series. Same actor, same studio. And the older episodes took the same liberties.

I guess they thought that changing the solution was the only way to surprise readers of the original. And that mysteries stop being fun when you know how they end.
