Mia snorted. “They set a car on fire last year when they won. You’re on your own, Boston.”
He's so adorable when he's being all emotionless and no-grin, but I don't think there's a word that can quite describe how cute he is when he's not being Kevin-Costner-in-the-Bodyguard-but-a-hundred-times-better.
Her last lines were awesome! They're on a date!!!!!!! ^_^

And SINCE he's hardcore-grew-up-on-the-Celtics, he can't NOT get excited about it. I mean, the Lakers & the Celtics! Come on!

First, AARGHJSDJFKLJDSKL dhoney wrote something!!!!!! You are writing THINGS and they are AWESOME! Second, this is so freaking adorable and I love that you picked up these characters again because the first part of their story ended so ambiguously. So I must know...what is going on??? Is he at her house or is she still at his? Are they boning? They must be boning, right? Because the game was a "date" because she said it was so they have obviously established romantic parameters or something, right? Right???
Her lips quirked slightly when she realized she was hoping for a bit of approval, but a full grin blossomed when she saw him recognize what was being offered.
His jaw slowed its chewing to a stop; his eyebrows lifted minutely; and his lips parted in just the slightest.

Heh, sorry 'bout that. In my defense, it's been like this the whole playoffs. I'll change it after I get the Game 7 drabble up - or in a couple weeks, whichever comes first.
So, he's at her house, but no boning has commenced. Instead, he's still doing the bodyguard thing & is taking a little snack break before they venture to Rodeo Drive. Fun fact: Kix is his favorite cereal & Mia stocks it just for him (she can't eat sugary cereals for figure-watching purposes).
They're still in this gray area where he's working for her, but they're interested, but they don't know how to proceed, but they're hanging out outside of client parameters. So, we'll stick this 'date' into a 'hanging out' session. You can't bone someone unless you know what team they support. Boning will commence eventually - it always does with me. =)
People have probably already seen him in pictures a la bodyguard, but they will be surprised that she brought him to this epic game, IN a Celts jersey, at such good seats.

I love it when Kalan leaves his professional face behind and is genuinely happy and excited, it makes him so.... human. The bit about his jersey being the boldest colour she'd seen him in made me smile. It's so in character for him to stick to the tame colours and only go all in for his favourite team.
So is this their official first date?

I think it's the first time they've ever called anything they've done a 'date' even if she did so partially joking (see above), so I don't know that it's official, but maybe it'll be one of those weird, small things couples argue about in the future when they reminisce about their past. :)
