Title: Always There

Summary: One-sided SaeFu. Saeki receives a call from a brokenhearted Fuji.
A/N: ...I have no explanations for this.
“He’s going away,” Fuji Syuusuke told Saeki Kojirou over the phone. “What should I do?”
Saeki was tempted to answer Go with him, that’s what you really want to do but refrained from doing so. He blurted out, “Tell him a proper goodbye, I guess?”
“I don’t know,” Fuji’s voice sounded weird, as if he was faraway, fading.
Saeki sighed. He looked longingly out the window of his room. Until now he could not understand why Fuji chose to come to him to talk about problems. Wasn’t Kikumaru supposed to be his best friend? And Tezuka…that idiot.
“I don’t know either,” he said. “All I can tell you is to meet him before he goes, tell him goodbye and all…”
“Perhaps I should.”
“Not perhaps. You should.” He hoped he sounded like a true friend. Right now, he was having a hard time keeping up that pretense. Of course he was sensitive to Fuji’s feelings. But there were times that Saeki himself needed Fuji to understand. “What, you want me to go there and cheer you on?”
Fuji was silent for a long time. Then: “Sae? Am I disturbing you?”
“Of course not!” He grinned, and managed to feel more of a moron than not. “Look, you don’t need to lose contact with him. Just…you know. Make things all right between you two before he leaves.”
“Thank you.” Fuji’s voice became more cheerful. Apparently, he was going to act on Saeki’s advice.
“You’re welcome.”
A few moments of silence passed, then Fuji hung up. Saeki put down the handset, sighed, and threw himself back on the bed.
“I’m here,” he told the ceiling. “I’m always here for you. I wonder if you ever noticed that.”

Summary: Pre-Chen Cang in WO1. Nagamasa plans, while Gan Ning drives him crazy. Probable OOCness...I think.
A/N: ...Because Gan Ning calls Nagamasa a 'girl' in WO1! Should have been comedic, but I lost the funny.
“Heh, thought you’d be here, boss. What do you want me to do?”
Azai Nagamasa turned to see Gan Ning drawing near, hands clasped behind his head. Nagamasa looked away, to watch his men prepare for battle against Cao Pi’s forces.
Gan Ning tapped him on the shoulder. He turned again.
“You look nervous,” Gan Ning commented.
Nagamasa sighed. He’d been watching the preparations with some apprehension. He did not know how Cao Pi directed battle. He was also regretful for sending Oichi out to secure a checkpoint for their reinforcements. Not that he doubted her skill as a warrior, but…it was a husband’s duty to protect his wife.
And then there was Gan Ning.
“You’ll stay inside the castle,” Nagamasa decided.
“…Come on now, I joined your crew to fight, not to babysit!” Gan Ning instantly complained.
“But it’s-“
“Give me a few men, we’ll raze their main camp! How about that?”
“I…no. That won’t work.”
“Humph, strategies…” Gan Ning scoffed. Nagamasa sighed. Since taking him in, he’d been pestering Nagamasa to invade Wei territory. It was even unthinkable, considering the disparity in numbers between Nagamasa and Cao Pi’s men, but Gan Ning had unshakable confidence, saying it was really easy.
Maybe it could be easy. Nagamasa just did not think it would work.
“Hey! How about you put me in the frontlines?”
“Like I said, you’ll stay inside the castle. I’ve already-“
“Planned it all out? Damn!” Gan Ning scratched his head. “Well, whatever you say. You saved my ass, you fed me. I’ll behave.”
He walked away muttering something. Then he stopped, turned, and said,” You sure you could fight? With your looks, I mean…”
“What exactly are you suggesting?” Nagamasa’s brow twitched, which was rare, and unwanted. He knew what Gan Ning was about to say.
Gan Ning grinned. “I still like to think you're a girl.”
Then he dashed away before Nagamasa could react.
