One of my most treasured fandoms just succumbed to the paranormal crap trend. When people think that dirty, anorectic young criminal on drugs is more manly and cool than cocky, confident devil hunter who doesn't smoke... you know the world is heading straight to hell. Not to mention the twat who replaced our favorite white-haired cornball does look like a vampire. The sort that crawled right out of grittier version of Twilight.
XDDDD Sorry, I won't be able to start laughing for a while... really, I wonder why writers like that get their work printed and talented people never do... strange. Or maybe the really strange thing is that people seem to love crap like that! OTL
They wouldn't get published if nobody wanted to read this... Just how mentally retarded people must be to stand names such as Rehvenge or Vishous? DDD: It's painful to even know they exist. *headdesk* I've always thought book readers were... more advanced plot-wise than telly viewers, but c'mon... this is such a bullshit.
Maybe some readers don't realize that there might be some, uhm... "hidden meanings" in those names. And when they finally realize they feel all smart and then they start to love the book because it makes them feel small. Which is a good feeling everyone enjoys.
By the way, as a reader of good books, have you read something by Monaldi & Sorti? What do you think of these books? You have more experience than I do, so I figured I should ask you. You are also the only person I know who I think might read books like that sometimes. orz
How dumb must someone be not to recognize "Rehvenge"? I think even 7-year-old must notice the similarity to the actual word. *facepalm*
Ah, sorry, I haven't read them myself ^^; I read mostly fantasy. ^^; I don't think I'd like them though... From what I heard, authors use the plot to bury the readers under tons of historical data and the action serves only as an excuse to unload the entire encyclopedia.
