All previous games a product of imagination... NO. This is one of the WORST plot ideas ever invented. I'd rather he's some psycho kid brainwashed into thinking he's Dante. That would explain his lack of healing abilities, clumsiness, molasses-firing-speed, and other levels of fail... And I hope he goes right splat on the ground where he jumped off. Suits him best. He looks like he'll start sparkling in any moment.

Why the hell do they try to do this to Dante... They could have introduced a new dude, if they don't like Dante AND Nero for fuck's sake.

Unfortunately, even if he is a loony, the setting still looks futuristic. :/ I hate sf... I was fine with genetic experiments in DMC4 because it's still between occult and science, but what I've seen in that fucking trailer looks like sf to me.
What's the point of destroying an already established and loved character... If they wanted to make cash on DMC's name and paranormal romance* trend, they should have just made a new character
