That dog is frighteningly bright...
Yesterday was an important holiday for us.
We call it, "The roads aren't iced over, we can go out again".
So, I was sitting downstairs, in my easy chair, with both dogs in my lap. This is not difficult, they are small dogs.

Shadow Unit
Last weekend, Emma Bull and Wil Shetterly were Guests at Foolscap Con, a small literary convention in the Seattle area.
In passing, I had heard someone mention that they were part of a shared world series online.
That series is Shadow Unit and it is really really good. "Go read this right now" good. "Go click on that link I just gave you" good. -

Yes, they have a CD.
And yes, the lead singer, among many other roles, voiced Wakko Warner.

Quick Review: Momofoku
A quick caveat before the review itself. I have a strong bias towards cookbooks which teach it right, and against anything which hints at a sub-par version designed to be either quick or "for the home chef". Admittedly, I did just pick up a copy of Ad Hoc at Home, but (a) it was Thomas Keller (b) I could get it signed (c) it was Thomas Keller.

I need advice on appropriate presents for Christmas for two young girls (2.5 yrs and 5 yrs respectively).
Selection of appropriate gifts for that demographic is definitely NOT in my core competencies. -
