I was so disturbed by the last few episodes I had to watch My Little Ponies: Friendship is Magic just to help forget what I had seen and to feel better.
OOOH, I AM SOLD! I'm definitely watching it, then. :D Do I have to watch the first Dune miniseries before it, or is it OK to go with this one alone? Because I really have absolutely no idea what it is about, I've never read the books, seen the movie, or any clips from anything. lol
Yeah. Well, after the end of S2 and then Children of Earth, I started thinking that too, but I only kind of made fun of it... but this series it's just getting ridiculous!
I think the episodes that really pissed me off were 5, 6 and 7. Just so, so, SO wrong.
Yeah, the original Torchwood is absolutely gone. But that wasn't even my main problem, because I figured I could watch the new show pretending it's a completely new show, from scratch, no past or whatever, and just judge it for what it is NOW.
Oh, did I say new season? I meant this new Starz show that showed up that has something to do with the old series, from what I've been told, but then again, it really doesn't. Just characters with similar names. ;P
But seriously, like I told, hushed_sirius, even if you ignore the old seasons ever happened, it's just soooo creepy and disturbing, and definitely not in a good way. (not that I know what a good way would be, but anyway)
lol yeah, after Children of Earth I went in a RTD hate phase, then I made my peace with him when I remembered he brought Doctor Who back, which was really good, and he had some really good episodes on DW. And then this series came along, and... Well, some people are really liking it, from what I've been seeing. Some are loving it! So it's not that I hate him, but he's clearly writing for an audience that I am definitely not part of anymore. Because NOTHING in this new series is pleasing me anymore. I mean, I enjoy good drama as much as anyone, but this is not it! Not by a long shot! It's just so wrong and pointless and GUH!

This was actually why I stopped watched RTD stuff: He always seems to be way meaner to his characters than I can handle!

There is too much convoluted and stupid dren. The original flavour of Torchwood is gone. Well, Torchwood's heart is gone. Has been gone.
I've loathed RTD since Children of Earth. :'(

... and yet it's still just painfully disturbing.

If I had watched the first two seasons before seeing Children of Earth, I would probably feel disturbed.
I just think RTD is so wrong. I still have (and I never will) watch the second part of "End of Time".
p.s. The Torchwood: Lost Files - "House of the Dead" killed me last month.
