Best week ever *sarcasm*: I went from a cold to a nasty cough and now I'm completely aphonic. I've drunk so much broth, tea and tisane my blood is watered down... and I have a birthday party I can't miss tomorrow. fun times.
my "feeling better song" (no pun intended) right now is this.

catchy, right?
bright side of being sick: I had time. I started reading a book. a real book, it's an event, I'm so used to e-books and nothing on paper unless is for work that I don't even remember the last time I've read a real book. LOL. kidding. probably the first potter book. btw. I'm reading Cathedral of the Sea by Idelfonso Falcones.
It's wonderful. I've literally devoured the first 100 pages in an half afternoon. Then I slowed down but I'm almost at half of its 600 and more pages. I haven't found a review that didn't spoiled the first part - and,as much as hard is to read it because of some scenes, I would hate to spoil anyone, so if you want to know what this book is about you can read
here, where you can find the first chapter in the download section.
the only bad thing... I so want to go to Barcelona again. I mean, I love that city and I've been there for a week the last time 3 years ago, but now I've even surfed the ryan air website looking for a cheap fly LOL!
Also... I just finished the first season of
The Vampire Diaries.
I confess after the first episodes I was a little (or more than a little) bored. Only Damon's scenes were bearable or even funny, and it confirmed my aversion for any kind of show with an high school in it.(with Friday Night Lights as only exception, because, well... FNL is FNL.) But stainofmylove and a pretty much everyone else said it improved so I went on.
Then they loosed the annoying diaries voice over, killed vicky for real, introduced a bunch of interesting story and characters (so sad they killed off Pearl and later Anna) and started those adorable "Gone with the wind" style flashbacks... and suddenly I was sucked in. (ah ah. pun intended). It still has a lot of WTF and random moments, and probably involuntary funny scenes, it's not as trash as True Blood, but I like it. Like in TB, the canon ship is boring and Stefan suffers the Bill syndrome: is way more interesting when Elena is not around - in the flashbacks, for example or when, for a little while, he embraced his vampire side.
Like in TB, lot of fanservice, too.
favorite scene of the season: Damon and Elena dancing. Now that's what I call UST! well played!
Katherine seems a real bitch, I bet funny times are coming with her in town! I hope they don't overplay Stefan jealousy. or Elena's with Katherine. I guess the mayor and his son are werewolves or something, right? Just please, don't tell me Damon is now redeemed! I prefer him as immoral bastard. And I want a spin-off with Damon and Alaric working together to protect the city or whatever. aren't adorable those two together?
