Stolen from nearly everyone

I've given my characters a healthy dose of Veritaserum and now they have to tell the truth. What does this mean for you? Ask my characters questions about anything and everything and they will truthfully answer it. So, go ahead and ask what you want. He can't beat around the bush with half-truths.

why did he marry lo? not the reasons why it works, bizarrely (because we all know those), but why didn't he derail the train when he noticed them falling into a relationship, why did he stay with her, why did he ultimately marry her? what factored into his decision? what made being with her a better idea than not being with her, to him, when she willingly gave him an out?

Monty's outward allergy to committed relationships stemmed from a bad case of pretending not to want what he was secretly convinced he could never have. Even he and Audry never got past being biffles with benefits, so he figured if she couldn't cope with him long-term, who would? He didn't think anyone would want him without drastic revisions to how he thinks, how he lives, to himself.

And yet ... here was this tinysexy girl who took every one of his idiosyncrasies in stride, who seemed to like being with him whether or not he was wearing one of his myriad masks. He gravitated to that acceptance instinctively. By the time he realized that he was getting serious (which was far earlier than he'd let on to anyone else), he was past the point where being without her felt like an option. In short, he was in love, in his particularly Monty way, though god only knows how long he would have waffled on the subject of marriage if Lo hadn't gotten pregnant.

He wants an answer to the same question from her, btw. ;)

idk how obvious it would've been to him (what is just lo vs what is lo fucking with somebody; it's not always clear) at the time (i think he knows her pretty well by now), but initially screwing around with him was basically a trolly game to lo. "oh lol i'm fucking a cop, how 'bout that." i hate to put it like this, but a lot of the time lo doesn't really see men as...like, people. as a rule, they're objects of vague pity or straight up loathing ( ... )

No scat or golden showers.

No, seriously? He would never knowingly do anything that compromised his ability to do his job, even for sex. Nor would he damage his friendships, but fortunately his friends are all pretty understanding about how he is.
